Concept website: Saltline Heating & Air is a fictional business. This policy is a realistic template, and a real business should have it reviewed before using it.
Saltline Heating & Air ("Saltline", "we") follows British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where it applies, the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
What we collect
- Contact details you give us: name, phone, email and service address.
- Job details: the equipment in your home, photos taken during service, and invoices.
- Rebate information, only if you ask us to help with a rebate, such as utility account details or income tier.
- Website form submissions: what you type into our booking, contact and sign-up forms.
We don't collect payment card numbers through this website.
How we use it
- To schedule, dispatch, perform and invoice the work you request.
- To text or call you about your appointment, including your technician's arrival time.
- To send tune-up reminders if you're a Comfort Club member.
- To prepare rebate and warranty paperwork you've asked for.
We don't sell your information, and we don't send marketing emails unless you opt in.
Who we share it with
Only service providers who help us do the job: our scheduling software, our form delivery service, financing partners (only if you apply), and equipment manufacturers (to register warranties). Each is bound to protect your information. Some providers may store data outside Canada.
Cookies
This site does not use advertising or tracking cookies, and it has no third-party analytics. It saves a single item in your browser's local storage (sl-cookie) to remember that you closed the cookie notice. The map on our contact page is provided by Google and is subject to Google's privacy policy.
How long we keep it
We keep job and invoice records for 7 years, as tax law requires, and warranty records for the length of the warranty. Form submissions that don't become a job are deleted after 12 months.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or withdraw consent for optional uses such as reminders. We'll respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for BC.
